Settling in
the US

Pre-Arrival

Should I Bring Cash?

Quick answer: We recommend carrying as much as possible and up to $1,000 when moving to the US to cover any unexpected expenses.

To help you settle in the US, we will provide a stipend to cover many of your first month’s expenses like rent and food. After that, your salary will cover expenses that arise.

Typically, the major, recurring costs from living in the US include:

  1. Housing
  2. Food and Groceries
  3. Transportation
  4. Taxes
  5. Lifestyle and Entertainment

Note that the cost of living for a nurse in the USA is impacted by factors such as location and lifestyle choices.

For additional information, we recommended that you research the location or area where you plan to work to better understand the cost of living in that particular region.
